My friend is a yoga-zen-life-etc-etc teacher. For Christmas I looked for something I could give him to show the respect I have for him and what he does.
This Nepal boy, with hands together, gives the traditional "namaste" greeting. Which loosely translates to "I bow to the light that is within you, that is also within me".
The marking on his head is not a boo boo. It's a bindi that was made of a hand crafted paste. Today bindi's are more ornate, not always red, and sometimes stickers!
The bindi represents the placement of the third eye and reminds, in some religious fashion, to acknowledge and respect a persons third eye by always keeping it open.

This, like my other color works, was all PrismaColored pencil.
I know they are expensive, but SOOOO worth it. They last forever, never fade, never smudge. <3
